Beach Momma? Okay I Will Make My Own

It has been cold and really windy the last few days. We were having an inside afternoon, partly due to the weather and partly due to a tired Momma. After bringing me his sunscreen to me and saying "please," I had to tell him no buddy it's too cold.

It got really quiet. I look up. And there he is making his own beach.

It made me laugh so hard. And I was so tired. I left him!

I love that Max thinks his backyard is the beach

Each day we walk through the park on the way home. Max always makes us stop and pick one. Today he insisted our entire walk home that I smell the flowers. The philosophy of a one year old: perfect - Take time to smell the flowers.

Early Mornings.

I am definitely trying to take advantage of our beach location. The weather being so cold and unsummer like helps me value the sunny days and the fact that I can walk to the beach. This morning when we woke up to sunshine we hurried to the beach and played for an hour or more. It got overcast and cold while we were there, but it definitely wasn't the horrible weather that was predicted! Our friend Jen is here visiting and was able to take some pictures of Max and me playing in the waves.

My friend Danielle said that God knew I needed to be able to walk from my door to the beach and I think she is absolutely right! With a Starbucks in between our house and the beach makes it seem like heaven on earth!!! God's goodness in action!

The waves were crazy and full of riptides but Max and I still had a good time in the waves.

Jen adores Max and Max adores Jen. They played all sorts of games that made Max crack up all morning.

His favorite game is pretending to eat and drink because of his new kitchen from Nana and Pop Pop (max's new name for Sam's dad) I didn't quite catch it but he makes the funniest pretending to drink face and made Jen and I play drinking coffee all morning.

Tool Time

Max's Godparent's sent the coolest Christmas gift to Max today. It was doubly cool because he was so into the tools Papa and Uncle Tom building the other day.

Lucky Kiddo

Yesterday Sam's family (minus Gracie...missed you yesterday!) came to play at the beach with us. Max had a blast playing with his Uncles and Auntie and Nana and Papa. I loved getting a swim in the ocean and Sam loved that we loved it!

He had a cookie with Nana in his cool chair she got him.

THEN....Papa and Uncle Tom built his kitchen that Nana got him. He LOVED IT!!!

He was way into it and was very focused as he opened and closed everything and tested it all out.
