Family Fun

A walk around the Mount! On my parents last full day here I put the bubby in the front pack (THANK YOU LORNA!!!) and we went with my parents. It was such a fun time and a fun memory. We took some pictures so you can all see. This is at the end by the beach when my mom is happy that cafes and coffee are coming soon :)

He's all snuggled in!

My Mom's happy place at the Mount--a cafe called Deck Chair. They went here every day except the first day when they happened to try the cafe know for the most horrible customer service at the Mount and the lady was rude to my mom! (Blasted not getting tips in this country! Makes for lots of bad service and grouchy people!) UGH!!! I was so sad I forgot to warn them about that cafe, but alas they found the best place next door and went there every morning and looked at the ocean! Look how cute my sporty mom is!!

That night my parents wanted to go out to dinner with Sam's parents. It was such a fun idea and we were all excited to spend one last night together. My dad had a great idea to get a picture with Max and all the grandparents!

Happy Grandparents!

Of course I made us take a family picture...seeing my husband is a photographer and we only have one other I thought it might be time! :)

Our friend Jen is back from her visit to America!!!! We were so happy to have Jen back and my parents fell in love with her right away, so even though she flew back in that morning they insisted she come with us to dinner! This picture pretty much sums up our friendship with Jen!!!

It was such a good visit with my parents! We had so much fun and they loved getting to be here. My mom and dad were great and did all these little things I wasn't used to people doing....my house was always clean, my things were paid for, Sam's shirts were ironed, my kitchen was spotless every night--no dishes in the sink! And they just loved on us and Max the whole time. The shop owners that know me from walking down to the shops every day now knew my mom. The guy at the little store where my dad bought the paper each day to see his son in law he was SO proud of knew my dad by the end of the first week. And I even had the starbucks people say, "Oh did your parents leave already?" They fully embraced the Mount life and the Mount fully embraced them! I was HAPPY! My mom even had Max sleep next to her on the couch at one point... :) Our little baby burrito!

What a trip! I was sad when they left and fully cried, but know we will see them again soon. Max on the other hand can't understand why each time he whimpers or cries there isn't a grammy coming to pick him up. He has had a rude awakening the last day or two but is starting to get used to the idea. Funny how my parents let us cry when we were kids and now CAN NOT stand to let the grandchild cry :) I LOVE GRANDPARENTS!! Max is very lucky!!!!

Binky

He figured out his binky

The pictures are kind of dark because he is in his stroller and indoors but you get the idea

Chillin' out with his bink why momma and grammy shop

We tried a few different brands and yesterday I found this one I had bought way before he was born and SUCCESS! My mom and I took him to the mall with us and he has a little tummy bug (poor guy! rough couple of weeks for him) so he kept waking up but I knew he wasn't hungry. Then came the binky! HE LOVED IT! It still is a bit challenging for him at times but once he gets it he is one little happy bubby!

Happy New Year

Since we live in the most coveted spot in NZ for New Years Eve we stayed at our house and people came to us. The Lines family came down and brought the venison (that my dad and Andy shot THAT MORNING!). Sam's brother had his own festivities but was out on a commercial fishing boat for the last two days so he brought us a HUGE fish that my dad fried up a few different ways. And Sam's mom and little brother came over while their Dad played in a band at a bar down the road.

The moms having a bit of bubbly...if you know my mom at all you know she had the non alcoholic version :)

Sally and Georgia

James showing Sam some cool photos he took earlier that day

The men manning the BBQ

Dad getting it all set up

Out on our deck enjoying the warm weather...so hard to get my mind around the fact that it is nice on New Years Eve

Sam's mom made a yummy dessert with some of the walnuts my parents brought her from CA

This is what happens when lots of holding grandmas are around and we try to lay him down :)

We opted for the swing to calm him down

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!

FUN at the Mount

Last night we packed a picnic and headed to Pilot Bay down the block.

You can tell how excited Sam is to be on our little picnic :)

Today we went on a walk with Sam's parents down to the beach. The bubby got held the whole time I am pretty sure.

Little sleeper

My grandma sent Max this cute little bib for Christmas
